Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was considered as skipper for future seasons will take charge of the things earlier than expected.

But as for IPL 2024, Ruturaj Gaikwad will take charge of the five-time champions. There have been plenty of rumours about the participation of Dhoni, But the 42-year-old has not spoken about this role either. Now, speculations have resurfaced that this could be the last year for Dhoni in IPL.

MS Dhoni Seasons as CSK Captain

MS Dhoni’s name has been synonymous with the yellow army from the south in IPL. Although he represented another franchise for two seasons, people, even his opponents always wanted to see him in the bright yellow jersey. India’s successful skipper led the CSK to a staggering 10 IPL Finals and won five IPL trophies in fourteen seasons.

He has led CSK in 212 IPL matches, won 128 and lost 82. IPL 2023 was CSK’s seventh title in all T20 tournaments. They are now the fourth franchise with seven or more T20 titles with Mumbai (7) and Titans (7) (South Africa), and only behind Sialkot Stallions (8).
