On February 22, the IPL released a partial schedule. It had an initial set of 21 matches. A complete schedule could not be put out since, at the time, the IPL was waiting for the Election Commission of India to announce the dates for the country’s general elections.

Now as per the full schedule, Chennai is set to host its first IPL final in 12 years, with Chepauk named as the venue for the IPL 2024 title match. The match will be played on May 26. Chennai will also host the second qualifier on May 24, with the first qualifier on May 21 and the eliminator on May 22 set to take place in Ahmedabad.

The second part of the IPL schedule has the remaining 52 matches including the playoffs. April 7 was the end date of phase one. Now after the announcement of the second phase, fans can expect a continuation of the matches. The new schedule will begin on April 8, with the CSK vs KKR match. All playoff matches are also evening games.

The format remains same for the season 17. Teams will play each opponent in the group twice and four teams in the other group once. Click here to get the complete schedule of the IPL 2024. CSK are in a group with 2022 IPL champions Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings. The second group have five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians along with KKR, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants.
