Emma Raducanu is facing multiple fitness issues at the moment. The British tennis star has already undergone surgeries on her ankle and wrist. But now lower back issue forced her to withdraw from the Miami Open 2024. Raducanu received a wild card into the main draw at the Miami Open She was scheduled to face China’s Wang Xiyu in their first-round match Tuesday.
The former US Open champion missed most of last season due to similar issues. But she delivered good performances in the Indiana Wells, especially after so many surgeries in a short period. The 21-year-old lost in the third-round match against world No. 2 Aryana Sabalenka last week.
Emma Raducanu Withdraws From Miami Open 2024
Emma Raducanu played only five tournaments in the 2024 Season till now. But she didn’t win either of the competitions. Her best outing this season was second-round finish in the Australian Open, with similar results in other WTA tours too. Raducanu, who in 2021 became the first qualifier to win the US Open is scheduled to play in Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup tie against France next month.
